Dr Zoe Mawby - Clinical Psychologist
DClinPsy, BSC (Psych), EMDR (1-3), MBABCP (Acced), HCPC Reg.
I am an HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist, a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and EMDR Practitioner.
I work with young people and adults across a
wide range of psychological problems and I draw on a number of different
therapeutic models and approaches, including CBT, DBT and EMDR.
My private clinics
are held on a face-to-face basis in Ashley Cross in Poole and by video link
across the UK. Whether therapy is delivered directly or online using video
sessions, the process is exactly the same. My own experience of working this
way has demonstrated that the outcomes and recovery rates are equally effective.

My
personal style to therapy combines a warm and empathic interpersonal approach
with a clear focus on structure and good clinical outcomes for my clients. I have gained significant experience over the last ten years working in primary and secondary care settings, including frontline NHS
services and specialist inpatient settings. I have worked across the age ranges
including CAMHS and adult mental health. This has included complex clinical presentations.
I am qualified as an accredited CBT
specialist and EMDR Practitioner and as a Doctor of Clinical Psychology. This
means that I can draw upon a number of different approaches and tailor therapy to
meet the specific needs of my clients.
Whilst I work across the full range of anxiety,
mood and mental health conditions, including Depression, Eating Disorders, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety and OCD, I have a specialist clinical interest in Complex Trauma, PTSD and other trauma-related
psychological problems. My depth of training in CBT, DBT, EMDR and Clinical Psychology, provides a more precise and sophisticated approach to assessment and treatment of the problem. This is helpful for anxiety problems such as Panic Disorder and for more complex problems including Personality Disorders and psychosis.
